Valentino Alfredo Zangara
Valentino Alfredo Zangara, after graduating in 2016 from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence as a violinist with maestro Massimo Nesi and as an orchestra conductor with maestro Alessandro Pinzauti, he continued his studies as a conductor with maestros such as Piero Bellugi, Lior Shambadal, Ennio Nicotra, Vittorio Parisi, Matteo Beltrami and Francesco Lanzillotta.
Since 2015 he is the conductor and orchestrator in setting up the Napoleonic dances for the historical re-enactments of Margarita Martinez, which takes him to perform in the Island of Elba, Lucca, Florence, Bagni di Lucca, Turin and Naples, collaborating with the Atelier de Danse of Florence and the Jane Austen Society.
In 2016 he founded the “Orchestra Sinfonica Florentia” with which every year he programs symphonic concerts, opera and chamber music concerts, creating an annual season at the Certosa di Firenze. He then collaborates with artists such as Anastasyia Petryshak, Yury Revich and Erica Piccotti. Since 2017 he has been working with the Australian director John Wregg on productions of operas such as “Bastien und Bastienne” by W.A. Mozart with the “Orchestra Sinfonica Florentia”, representing it in San Gimignano, Villa Rossi in Lucca and Radda in Chianti.
He currently runs an opera company that relies on the Orchestra Sinfonica Florentia in collaboration with John Wregg as the director of the company and Margarita Martinez as the costume designer. Every year the company presents a new chamber opera title in Tuscany. In June 2023 he conducted “La rose de saint- fleur” by Offenbach.
He collaborated as assistant conductor of Maestro Roland Böer for the opera “L’Impresario in angustie” by Domenico Cimarosa, in the occasion of the 2018 edition of the “Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano” Festival conducting the last performance. He was invited as guest conductor at the 2020 edition of the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte Festival in Montepulciano.
He has conducted two performances of the opera “Cendrillon” at the Teatro Coccia in Novara, on 12 and 13 December 2021.
In September 2022 he conducted Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” in Strongoli, with the Leonardo Vinci orchestra.
Since October 2022 he has been the principal conductor of the Accademia del Diletto choir and the Firenze Vocal Ensemble choir, conducting Handel’s “Messiah” in memory of Giorgiana Corsini in November 2022, in the church of Santo Spirito in Florence. With these choirs he conducted several productions of “Gloria” by A. Vivaldi, “Requiem in D minor” by W. A. Mozart, “King Arthur” by Purcell, “Requiem” by Fauré, “Deutsche messe” by F. Schubert.
Between 2022 and 2023 he collaborated with the L. Cherubini Conservatory of Florence as conductor in the operas “Le nozze di Figaro” by W. A. Mozart, “La cambiale di matrimonio” and “L’occasione fa il ladro” by G. Rossini.
In November 2023 he conducted the opera “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi” by Puccini with Orchestra “I Concertisti” in Umbertide and Florence.
In December 2023 with “Coro Accademia del Diletto” and “Orchestra Sinfonica Florentia” he conducted “La Traviata” by G. Verdi, in April 2024 a production of “Rigoletto” and in June 2024 a production of “Elisir d’amore” by G. Donizetti.
In November 2024 he staged and conducted the complete “Requiem in D minor” by W. A. Mozart to commemorate the loss of Vieri Torrigiani Malaspina.
In January and February 2025 he collaborated as assistant conductor of Maestro Roland Böer for the opera “Macbeth” by G. Verdi in Staatstheater Nürnberg.
